Quickly solve Bordeaux liquid phytotoxicity
Some pesticides are inevitably used in agricultural cultivation, and Bordeaux mixture is one of the common pesticides. In the process of using Bordeaux liquid, there are some phytotoxicity phenomena due to various reasons. This article will introduce the method of quickly solving the toxic effects of Bordeaux.
Bordeaux mixture is a protective fungicide prepared by adding copper sulfate and lime to water. It can be used on eggplant to prevent diseases such as cotton rot. It is usually applied before or at the onset of the disease, and then sprayed once every 10-15 days.
Bordeaux mixture is not used properly and is prone to phytotoxicity. On the one hand, it may cause cell death due to the destruction of cellular proteins or enzymes by copper ions in Bordeaux mixture; on the other hand, it may be caused by lime, which may damage the lipid substances in the plant cells or the stratum corneum of the plant surface. The phytotoxicity caused by copper ions is characterized by the fact that the damaged leaves begin to darken from the tip of the leaf, gradually dry up, and spread to the leaf stalk to half of the blade, causing necrotic spots and even perforation; the damaged fruit has rust spots and plaques. The phytotoxicity caused by lime is characterized by abnormal growth of the affected leaves, thickening and roughness, and hardening of the peel.
The copper ions in the Bordeaux mixture are in a complex state. After spraying onto the surface of the crop, copper ions are usually released slowly, which plays a bactericidal action and is safe for crops. However, when the dosage is too large, or the environmental conditions are favorable for the rapid release of copper ions, the copper ion concentration on the surface of the crop is too large, causing phytotoxicity to the crop. For example, in the case of high temperature and rain in summer and autumn, especially when the continuous rainfall time is too long, the water droplets on the surface of the crop are kept for a long time, and more carbon dioxide can be dissolved in the water droplets to promote the release of copper ions in the drug spots, so that the surface of the crop The copper ion concentration is too high, causing phytotoxicity. Spraying 0.5%-1% lime solution in the early stage of phytotoxicity can slow the release rate of copper ions and reduce the phytotoxicity to a certain extent. After the crop is damaged, 0.3% urea solution and 0.2% potassium dihydrogen phosphate solution are sprayed every 10-15 days to help the crops resume growth and reduce the damage of the pesticide.
Bordeaux mixture is a sky-blue viscous suspension made of copper sulphate, quicklime and water. It is a broad-spectrum protective bactericide that is alkaline and corrosive to metals.
