The use of I-beam is equivalent to hn steel;
1. For I-shaped steel, whether it is ordinary or light, the cross-sectional dimensions are relatively high and narrow, so the difference between the two main sleeves has a large difference in the moment of inertia. Therefore, it can only be used directly on the web. A member that is bent in a plane or is formed into a lattice-type force member. It is not suitable for the axial compression member or the member that is curved perpendicular to the plane of the web, which makes it have a large limitation in the application range.

China's hot-rolled h-beam national standard (gb/t11263-1998) divides h-shaped steel into three types: narrow flange, wide flange and steel pile, and their codes are hz, hk and hu. Narrow flange h-beams are suitable for beam or compression-bending components, while wide-flange h-beams and h-beams are suitable for axial compression members or compression members. Compared with h-shaped steel, I-beam is not as good as h-shaped steel under the premise of equal weight, w, ix and iy.
