This achievement was completed by the research group led by Hebei Agricultural University and the Animal and Embryonic Engineering Research Center of Hebei Niuyang, led by Professors San Runzi, Tian Shujun, and Li Xianglong. It is understood that during the “Eleventh Five-Year Plan†period, the research group undertook two research projects, “Study and Promotion of Sheep Efficient Superovulation and Semen Storage Technology†and “Study and Demonstration of Dairy Goat Breeding Technologyâ€. Following the successful acquisition of the first “test-tube sheep†for the first superabdominal lamb (hybrid cross) young lambs in China in September last year, another study was conducted on the superovulation of dairy lambs. The research group used a high-tech biotechnology system that integrates techniques such as superovulation, live egg collection, in vitro maturation, in vitro fertilization, in vitro embryo culture, and embryo transfer to one-month-old dairy goats. Scorpion gestation, and on the 14th and 15th of June, were born 2 and 3 "test milk goats." At present, the five lambs are well developed.
Experts believe that this technology enables lambs to ovulate at 1 month of age and become mothers at 6 months of age. This technology can not only fully exploit and utilize the early reproductive potential of elite breeding stocks, shorten the gap between generations, and speed up the breeding process, but also can be used for animal cloning, genetic transformation and other embryonic engineering research. Provides the desired source of oocytes and embryos to promote the development of embryonic engineering. At the same time, it also provides a new technical way to expand milk sources and solve the shortage of milk sources.
