2014 holiday arrangements officially released
The State Council decided to make the following changes to the "National Festival and Memorial Day Holidays":
Amend the second item of Article 2 to read: "(2) Spring Festival, 3 days holiday (first day of the lunar calendar, first day, second day, third day)." This decision shall come into force on January 1, 2014.
The "National Festival and Memorial Day Holidays" will be revised accordingly and re-announced according to this decision.
National Year and Memorial Day Holidays
(December 23, 1949, the Administrative Council issued the first revision according to the "Decision of the State Council on Amending the National Holiday and Holiday Day Holidays" on September 18, 1999. According to the State Council on December 14, 2007 The second revision of the "Decision on the Annual Holidays and Anniversary Holidays" was revised in accordance with the "Decision of the State Council on Amending the National Holiday and Memorial Day Holidays" on December 11, 2013)
Article 1 These Measures are formulated for the purpose of unifying the National Year and Memorial Day holidays.
Article 2 Holidays for all citizens to take holidays:
(1) New Year, 1 day holiday (January 1);
(2) Spring Festival, 3 days holiday (the first day of the lunar calendar, the first day, the second day, the third day);
(3) Ching Ming Festival, 1 day holiday (the day of the lunar calendar);
(4) Labor Day, 1 day holiday (May 1st);
(5) Dragon Boat Festival, one day holiday (the day of the Lunar Dragon Boat Festival);
(6) Mid-Autumn Festival, 1 day holiday (the day of the Mid-Autumn Festival);
(7) National Day, 3 days holiday (October 1, 2, 3).
Article 3: Festivals and anniversaries of some citizens' holiday:
(1) Women's Day (March 8), women are on holiday for half a day;
(2) Youth Day (May 4th), young people over 14 years of age have a half-day holiday;
(3) Children's Day (June 1), children under the age of 14 are on holiday for 1 day;
(4) The anniversary of the founding of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (August 1st), the active servicemen were on holiday for half a day.
Article 4 The customary festivals of ethnic minorities shall be stipulated by the local people's governments of the ethnic minority areas in accordance with the customs of each ethnic group.
Article 5: Remembrance Day, Wuyi Memorial Day, July 7th Anti-Japanese War Memorial Day, Victory Day of the Anti-Japanese War, September 18th Anniversary Day, Teacher's Day, Nurse's Day, Journalist's Day, Arbor Day, and other festivals and anniversaries. No holidays.
Article 6 If the holidays of all citizens are on holiday, if they are on Saturdays and Sundays, they should make up their leave on the working day. Holidays for some citizens on holidays, if it falls on Saturdays and Sundays, do not make up for the holidays.
Article 7 These Measures shall be implemented as of the date of promulgation.
